Robert Gordon was a Scottish trader whom the Chickasaws trusted and was instrumental in persuading them to cede their lands to the Federal government in 1816. The population is estimated to be over 35,000. Monroe County is still one of the largest counties, ranking 8th by land area, 772 square miles. The last increase in housing inventory in year-to-year comparisons was in October 2019, according to NYSAR. Inventory of homes for sale across New York has dropped to 30,298 homes compared to 34,605 available homes last March - marking a 12.4% decrease.
